PARKOUR

Our Parkour taster sessions will be headed up by SingleBound Parkour.

Parkour/Free Running/Art Du Deplacement are all different names for the art of movement that we practice, from here on we will refer to them all as simply Parkour. Parkour is a non competitive sporting discipline/art that focuses on improving the body to overcome physical obstacles by running, jumping, climbing, vaulting etc.

We use physical movements and strength to move through an environment as fluidly and efficiently as possible. Many practitioners also add acrobatic elements to their training to move more freely and express themselves as well as simply to have fun with their training.

Please wear comfortable loose fitting clothing and bring along some clean non marking footwear.

CHEERLEADING

Our Cheerleading taster sessions will be run by White Rose Cheer.

Cheerleading  is an athletic discipline which improves confidence, co-ordination, and flexibility as well as encouraging team work. We have found it to be a great way for children to get more involved in physical activity. Even children that don’t enjoy ‘traditional’ sports and activities or aren’t particularly athletic seem to really enjoy cheerleading as it is by nature, a fun activity.

Modern competitive cheerleading consists of a combination of gymnastics, dance and acrobatic stunts. Teams of up to 35 members compete against other clubs according to age and ability levels. Routines last for 2 minutes 30 seconds and are set to music.

There will be 2 cheer sessions, one for under 12s and one for over 12s!
